Film Club

We have an archive of local stories – films donated to us, and created by us. We want to bring these to YOUR LIVING ROOM. So join us on the last day of the month, every month, to see local stories: home videos, past events, your relatives and friends and their relatives and friends, both current and going back 50 years – and further!

Next Event: Rita Morton

Goes Live at 6pm 31st August

On the 31st of August, we are thrilled to bring you an interview with Rita Morton – local history buffs will recognise her as the author of the book “The Building of the Elan Valley Dams” or even remember the notorious legend of how, in 1989, she saved the Birmingham Corporation archives from destruction when the company was privatised. She and a friend used her car to rescue the papers from a skip and she later compiled them into an archive.

This film is from 1997.

Watching is easy. There is no need to sign up or download anything – just click on the button that says “watch now” on the film club page on our website and you will be shown the film along with everyone else watching, just like in a cinema, but you’re actually at home in front of your computer. There is also a chat feature so you can talk with the rest of the audience about what you’re seeing as well.

If you have any questions at all about how to watch or join in, or about the films themselves do send us a message or an email to project@carad.org.uk. We hope to see you there!
